Overcome the Darkness

Entangled by the World

Have you noticed how the quality of life around the world has shifted for many of us? It’s as if a sinister darkness is trying to entangle every man, woman, and child into its clutches of fear. The struggle is real, my friend. To me, this current darkness feels like a ‘black hole’, drawing everything into its gravitational pull with no escape in sight. But don’t lose hope just yet! There is a remedy, a light that liberates and helps us overcome the darkness. And that light is Jesus – the Word of God. His truths light the way of escape, and you can find them in the Holy Bible.

Answer to My Dilemma

One morning, I was contemplating the deteriorating condition of the world. I wondered what more I could do. My question was answered when Jesus said to me, “You know that all who seek Me, find Me. Then, as they walk out their lives with Me by their side, I empower them to overcome the world just as I did. You can help by writing to show them the way to a heart-to-heart connection with Me. Then give them the way of escape when they are trapped in darkness.”

As Jesus spoke, the verse John 1:5 came to mind. It says, “This Light never fails to shine through the darkness—Light that darkness could not overcome.” “Have you ever felt like the darkness is closing in on you? It can be overwhelming and scary, but I have some great news for you. The light of Jesus found in the truth of the Bible can overcome even the most sinister darkness. Through devotion to Jesus and studying the Bible, we can become true overcomers. It’s amazing to think about the power we have access to, isn’t it?”

Imagine being an overcomer – someone who has conquered their struggles and emerged victorious. But hold on, it isn’t an easy road to get there. It is a journey full of ups and downs, twists and turns. And you know what I learned when I went this process? It’s not the moments of triumph that make us champions of faith. It’s the times we spend in the Valley of Shadow, where we’re tested and refined like gold in the fire. That’s where champions of faith are made.

Valley of Shadow

Have you ever taken a stand for what you believe is right and suddenly felt like the forces of darkness were pushing back against you? That happened to me a few years ago in the political arena. To make matters worse, I was hit with a traumatic life event that left me feeling vulnerable and alone. That’s when darkness started calling my name, tempting me with compromise and drawing me away from the light. Before I knew it, I was engulfed by darkness, and it felt like the demons were attacking me from every side. It was a harrowing experience that I’ll never forget.

At that time, I felt like I was carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders. I was weighed down by shame and too afraid to share my struggles with anyone. But then, something unique happened. Jesus came to me and spoke these words of love, “Your failure is My opportunity. I know what plagues you. I will wash you clean, renew your mind, and restore you to Me!” Those words changed everything for me. They lifted the weight of shame off of me and gave me strength to keep moving forward.

Overwhelmed by His unconditional love and mercy, I fell to my knees in repentance. When I stood up, I was forgiven! His incredible grace lifted me and empowered me to overcome the darkness that held me down. The Valley of Shadow no longer seemed like a permanent home. It was a moment of transformation I’ll never forget.

The Walk Out

Have you ever felt lost and trapped in darkness? If so, there’s a way out. It’s not easy, but it’s worth it. I began my journey of soul-searching step by step, and even though I stumbled along the way, I kept moving forward. And you can, too.

Here’s what helped me: I grabbed my Bible and read it daily. The truths in it helped me win the battle in my mind between light and dark. And when I was honest with Jesus and asked for His help, He answered me with His loving forgiveness. It was all undeserved, but that’s what grace is all about.

The most challenging part was forgiving and loving myself, but with Jesus’ help, I could do it. And when I did these three things – reading the Bible, trusting Jesus, and forgiving myself – I was free.

And you know what? The Holy Spirit led me to reach out to others struggling in darkness with the same light that set me free. So, if you’re feeling trapped, don’t be discouraged. Keep walking, even if you’re limping. There’s a way out, and it starts with these three things.

Shine Your Light

Are you ready to hear about the bright side of darkness? Yes, you read that right! It turns out that darkness can be a blessing in disguise. It exposes those who walk in the ‘light’ of Jesus, while those who are entangled in darkness rush to those in the ‘light.’ And you know what happens next? A new reality is created for them – one of freedom, healing, and salvation!

As Love Ambassadors of Heavenly Father’s Kingdom, we are uniquely wired for this time. We have what it takes to expose the darkness with the light and love of Jesus. Doing so can help push back the tide of sin and lead those spiritually blind and deaf out of the darkness. And the best part? Our efforts can help usher in the most remarkable revival the world has ever seen. So, are you with me? Let’s bring the light of Jesus to those who need it most!

You are a lighthouse on a hill! Shine so that through you, others can see Jesus. He will help them overcome the darkness.

“You, beloved, are the light of the world. A city built on a hilltop cannot be hidden. Similarly it would be silly to light a lamp and then hide it under a bowl. When someone lights a lamp, she puts it on a table or a desk or a chair, and the light illumines the entire house. You are like that illuminating light. Let your light shine everywhere you go…” Matthew 5:14-16 (VOICE)
